While regularly used for normal amateur radio traffic, this repeater system's first priority is to always be available for emergency purposes. We work with the local and state law enforcement agencies to increase communications in order to help coordinate when needed in a crisis. We also work with the National Weather Service during weather emergencies. Skywarn is an important part of local weather forecasting. Most of the operators are trained weather spotters, this too is done voluntarily and is also an out of pocket expense.
This is all done out of pocket by the individuals on the Repeater. No dues are asked for, this is NOT a club system.
Our main goal is to have a reliable repeater system to talk on and for every one to enjoy and use. Please use the system, it's there for everyone to enjoy.
